Forbidden rice

Forbidden rice is a variety of black rice that only grows in Indonesia.
It is usually called forbidden because in the past only the emperor and his family could eat it, and was forbidden for everyone else.
Forbidden rice is just like normal rice. It is black (actually deep purple) because it has a very high level of anthocyanin, the same that gives blackcurrants and eggplant their purple coloring.
