World's Most Expensive Fruit

Fruit in Japan is very expensive because it is often given as gifts, and because home-grown Japanese food is highly-prized no matter what the price.

These musk melons cost about $100 each. Some specimens have been found for as much as $250 each. A luxury department store in the Tokyo subway sells boxes of cherries, melons and pomegranates for similar high prices.
