Black Jack Barbecue Sauce

This barbecue sauce can be used on chicken, beef, pork or anything you can throw on a grill. The sauce is sweet, tangy and smoky all at the same time. It is an all around sauce for your summer needs also can be made ahead of time and kept in the refrigerator until you need it. You can adjust the heat by using more jalapeno or less, or you can remove them from the recipe and use cayenne pepper sauce as needed for spice.

Ingredients: 

-¼ cup olive oil
-½ Cup small-diced onion
-2 Large cloves minced garlic
-1 Large jalapeno pepper minced
-1 16oz. Can tomato sauce
-1 12 oz. Can tomato paste
-1 Cup Jack Daniels
-½ Cup Worcestershire sauce
-½ Cup brown sugar
-¼ Cup vinegar
-2 Tbl whole grain mustard
-1 Tsp fresh ground pepper

Instructions: 

-In medium pot cook the onion, garlic, and jalapeno pepper in olive oil on medium heat until the onion is opaque.
-Add tomato paste, with a wooden spoon stir, and cook for 5 minutes stirring the paste constantly
-Add the rest of the ingredients and stir with a wire whip until blended
-Reduce heat and cook for 30 minutes until thickened
